Request for QuotationsThe circulation pump refers to the circulation liquid pump used to transport reaction, absorption, separation, and absorption liquid regeneration in the device. It is a kind of centrifugal pump specially designed for closed systems to generate a forced circulation. The pumps are mainly used in heating hot water ( circulator pumps ), high-temperature hot water above 120 °C ( circulation pumps for water heater ), heat transfer systems (heat transfer pumps), forced circulation boilers ( circulating pumps ), reactor circuits (reactor pumps), and open systems like swimming pool filtering systems.
The design of circulation pumps
The water circulation pumps are designed according to the high temperature of the fluid handled and the relatively low head, which is related to the system pressure and corresponds to the head loss. So, there are three main types of circulation pumps used in closed pump circuits: the ones with a shaft seal, the ones without shaft seals, and the ones with special designs.
Circulating pumps with a shaft seal are often horizontal pumps driven by electric motors or steam turbines. Cooled gland packings or mechanical seals should be used to seal the pump shafts to resist the full pressure of the closed system. However, they are suitable for higher system pressures, which require circulating pumps without shaft seals. Seal-less circulating pumps, also called glandless circulating pumps, are often vertical pumps driven by wet rotor motors with or without a can. They have a completely leak-free design to handle hazardous or valuable fluids. Some special applications require circulation pumps with special designs.
Common types of circulation pumps
In modern homes, three types of circulation pumps are commonly used. The basic circulation pump is the simple form, which is continuously on and circulates water through the water heater and pipes. When the hot water tap is turned on, the hot water is drawn out of the tap. However, the basic type is not efficient and can be easily worn and torn. The second type is an on-demand circulation pump, which will operate when the hot water tap in a sink, bathtub, or other location is turned on. When the water starts to move through the hot water line, it activates the pump. The system can help to save energy and water, but it sacrifices its instantaneousness. Last, the time and temperature circulation pumps turn on at the set time and pump into the cycle until the specified temperature is reached. It Is suitable for a family that has a fixed period of time for centralized water use and can help to save money while still providing immediate hot water.
