Additional Information
Aluminum Closed End Dome Head Blind POP Rivets
Closed End Rivets differ from a standard blind pop rivet due to their closed end which creates a watertight seal. Closed end rivets are used to attach materials quickly and efficiently. These rivets also boast a higher tensile strength than regular pop rivets.
Closed End Pop Rivets are often referred to as sealed blind rivets, or sealing rivets because they create a watertight seal when installed properly, making them a popular item in the boating and automotive industries. Closed end pop rivets also provide a complete mandrel retention which gives the sealed rivet a higher tensile strength and can be important in electronic and electrical applications.

How to measure a Rivet
First, measure the diameter of the rivet itself with a dial caliper. Then, just like measuring a bolt,
measure the underside of the rivet head to the end of the rivet head. Make sure that you do not measure to the end of the mandrel, you only want the length of the HAT and washer. The grip range of the rivet will be 1/8" shorter than the measured length.
EXAMPLE: If the length of the hat is 1/2" the rivet is actually a 3/8" grip (.375), also known as a 4-6 rivet. Please refer to the
diagram and charts below for grip ranges, grades, etc. Grip range is not the same as length, the rivet must expand or swell out on the backside in order to hold the rivet together.
