Floating oil seal is a kind of metal mechanical seals, initially used to replace the bulldozer chassis of rubber oil seal, the original use of rubber oil seal because of the sediment corrosion, wear and soaking, the damaged very fast, and the floating oil seal is designed for such bad working conditions and a compact structure of the mechanical seal device, to prevent oil leakage and prevent the external pollution such as soil body into device, floating oil seal structure is simple, wear-resisting, resistance to vibration, pollution, channeling, impact and oscillation, work stable and reliable service life is long, maintance now has been widely used in all kinds of engineering machinery and mining machinery.This kind of oil seal is also called double cone oil seal,permanent seal or metal end seal.
The sealing principle of floating oil seal is as follows: two floating rings are deformed by axial compression of o-ring seal to produce the compression force on the sealing face of floating ring.With the uniform wear of the sealing surface, the elastic energy stored by the o-ring is gradually released, thus playing the role of axial compensation.The sealing surface can keep good fit in the set time, the general sealing life is above 4000h.
