1.Is this hard to construct and does it come with a manual? Lots and kits.
It's not hard to construct, but I would recommend two people to help unite the different parts (requires a bit of strength as you are tightening the bolts). It comes with a clear manual, and I would recommended counting all pieces before beginning to assemble. It took me an hour to put it together. However, I would just say to be very careful when tightening the bolts when attaching the actual wood surface (it might break into the surface of the desk, just one or two moves of tightening). I hope that helps!
2.Can two kids use the desk at the same time?
It depends on how big the kids are and how big what they are working on is. You could probably have them side by side if they aren't working on anything too big. The other thing you might have an issue with is a kid banging their legs on the bottom shelves on the right side or the bars along the bottom left and back.
