Products Description
Advantages of Lipo batteries?
LiPo batteries, short for lithium-ion battery, are a type of rechargeable battery that has taken the world of electric remote control by storm, especially aeroplanes, aeroplanes, and multirotor/drones. They are a very viable option for electric flying instead of fuel-powered models.
There are five main uses for LiPo batteries,
making them the best battery choice for RC aircraft, and even more for RC helicopters than traditional rechargeable battery types like NiCad (Nickel Cadmium) or NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride). 1.Lithium polymer batteries are lightweight and can be made in almost any shape and size.
2.Lithium polymer batteries have high capacity, which means they can store a lot of energy (high energy density) in a small package.
3.LiPo is very good at maintaining a steady voltage/power output while discharging. However, their voltage/power drop to full discharge is very fast (and detrimental) compared to NiCad (Nickel Cadmium), NiMh (Nickel Metal Hydride) or PB (Lead Acid). 4.LiPo batteries have a high discharge rate and power the most demanding electric remote control aircraft and vehicles. 5.LiPo also allows for fairly high charging rates, so it can be charged in an hour or less.
Unlike NiCad (nickel cadmium batteries) or NiMh (nickel metal hydride batteries); LiPo has no "memory effect".
In short, Li-Po batteries offer a high energy storage density to weight ratio. They also provide us with a stable voltage output, are capable of safe and fast discharge, have fast charge times, and can be configured in a wide variety of voltages, capacities, shapes and sizes.
