How to do DIY Faux Water for Artificial Flowers?
Materials:
Epoxy Resin
Plastic Container
Something to stir with
Faux Flowers
Glass Vase(Here are some choices Short Cylinder, Tall Cylinder, Cube)
Pliers
Directions:
1. Clean the inside of your vase walls with glass cleaner.
2. Cut flowers to desired height and decide how you would like to arrange flowers in vase.
3. To ensure there is no bleeding from the stems, it’s recommended you cover your stems with a mixture of three parts white glue and one part water, allowing to dry. (Most stems are colorfast, so this step might not be necessary)
4. Pour A and B down the sides of the mixing container to avoid excess air bubble formation. Start mix Resin 'B' with hardener 'A'. (note: you must mix A and B with correct mix ratio or it will not cure properly).
5. Stir the resin and hardener for 3-5 minutes, scraping the side of the mixing container while stirring (note: avoid stirring too fast as that may result in bubbles).
6. Carefully pour mixture into container.
7. You can place a grid of tape at the opening of the glass vase to keep the flowers upright . You will have up to an hour to move the flowers before they set.
8. Carefully place flowers into epoxy resin and set aside in an undisturbed area for 8-10 hours. Epoxy resin will be completely set in 24-48 hours.
