Product Description

Introduce of the bentonite:

Bentonite is a non-metallic mineral with montmorillonite as the main mineral component. The structure of montmorillonite is a 2:1 type crystal structure composed of two silicon-oxygen tetrahedra and a layer of aluminum-oxygen octahedron. Due to the formation of montmorillonite unit cells There are certain cations in the layered structure, such as Cu, Mg, Na, K, etc., and the interaction of these cations with the montmorillonite unit cell is very unstable, and it is easy to be exchanged by other cations, so it has good ion exchange. It is used in more than 100 departments in 24 areas of industrial and agricultural production, and there are more than 300 products, so people call it "universal soil".

Bentonite is also called bentonite, bentonite or bentonite. It turned out to be only used as a detergent. Later it was widely used. Clay with a yellow-green appearance can swell into a paste after adding water. Later, all clays with this property were collectively referred to as bentonite. In fact, the main mineral component of bentonite is montmorillonite, with a content of 85-90%. Some properties of bentonite are also determined by montmorillonite. Montmorillonite can be in various colors such as yellow-green, yellow-white, gray, white and so on. It can be a dense block or loose soil. It has a slippery feel when rubbed with your fingers. The volume of the small block swells several times to 20-30 times after adding water. It is suspended in water, and it is mushy when there is little water. . The nature of montmorillonite is related to its chemical composition and internal structure.

Classification of the bentonite

When the interlayer cation is Na+, it is called sodium bentonite; when the interlayer cation is Ca2+, it is called calcium bentonite; when the interlayer cation is H+, it is called hydrogen bentonite (activated clay, natural bleaching earth-acid clay); the interlayer cation is organic cation It is called organic bentonite.

Activated clay

Activated clay is an adsorbent made of clay (mainly bentonite) as raw material, treated with inorganic acid, then rinsed with water, and dried. The appearance is milky white powder, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, and has strong adsorption performance. Colored substances, organic substances. It is easy to absorb moisture in the air, and it will reduce the adsorption performance if placed for too long. However, heating to above 300 degrees Celsius will begin to lose crystal water, which will change the structure and affect the fading effect. Activated clay is insoluble in water, organic solvents and various oils, and is almost completely soluble in hot caustic soda and hydrochloric acid. The relative density is 2.3~2.5, and it has very little swelling in water and oil.

Natural bleaching earth

That is, naturally produced white clay with bleaching properties is white and white gray clay with montmorillonite, albite, and quartz as the main components. It is a kind of bentonite.

It is mainly the product of the decomposition of vitreous volcanic rock. It does not swell after absorbing water. The pH value of the suspension is different from that of alkaline bentonite; its bleaching performance is worse than that of activated clay. The colors are generally light yellow, green-white, gray, olive, brown, milky white, pink, blue and so on. There are very few pure white ones. The density is 2.7-2.9g/cm. Apparent density is often low due to porosity. The chemical composition is similar to ordinary clay, the main chemical composition is aluminum oxide, silicon dioxide, water and a small amount of iron, magnesium, calcium, etc. No plasticity, high adsorption. Because it contains a lot of water-containing silicic acid, it is acidic to litmus. The water is easy to crack and has a large water content. Generally, the finer the finer, the higher the decolorizing power.

During the quality evaluation in the exploration stage, the bleaching performance, acidity, filtration performance, oil absorption and other items need to be measured

Organobentonite

Organobentonite is an inorganic mineral/organic ammonium compound. It uses bentonite as a raw material. It uses the layered structure of montmorillonite in bentonite and its ability to swell and disperse in water or organic solvents into colloidal clay particles. Through ion exchange Technology is made by inserting organic covering agent. Organobentonite can form a gel in various organic solvents, oils, and liquid resins. It has good thickening, thixotropy, suspension stability, high temperature stability, lubricity, film-forming properties, water resistance and chemical stability. , It has important application value in the coating industry. It is also widely used in paint and ink, aviation, metallurgy, chemical fiber, petroleum and other industries.

Bentonite

Bentonite ore is a kind of mineral with multiple uses. Its quality and application fields mainly depend on the content and attribute types of montmorillonite and its crystal chemical characteristics. Therefore, its development and utilization must vary from mine to mine and from role to role. Such as the production of activated clay, calcium-based to sodium-based, drilling grouting for petroleum drilling, instead of starch for spinning, printing and dyeing slurry, interior and exterior wall coatings for building materials, preparation of organic bentonite, and synthesis of 4A zeolite with bentonite. White carbon black and so on.

The difference between calcium-based and sodium-based

The type of interlayer cation of bentonite determines the type of bentonite. When the interlayer cation is Na+, it is called sodium bentonite; when the interlayer cation is Ca+, it is called calcium bentonite. Sodium montmorillonite (or sodium bentonite) has better properties than calcium . However, the distribution of calcareous soil in the world is much wider than that of sodium soil, so in addition to strengthening the search for sodium soil, it is necessary to modify the calcareous soil to make it a sodium soil.

Industrial indicators

The general industrial requirements for the quality of bentonite ore are measured by the content of montmorillonite in the ore:

Cut-off grade: 40%;

Industrial average grade: 50%o

The content of montmorillonite is generally calculated by the amount of blue absorption. That is:

M=B/K'100

In the formula, the relative content of montmorillonite in M-bentonite ore, %:

B-Blue absorption, milligram equivalent/100g sample:

K- conversion factor, 150.

Available thickness: 1-2m;

Thickness of stone inclusion: 1m.
