Colored Mics which is their popular name or Pearlescent as they are also called, are beautiful natural colours that are created by coating muscovite mica flakes with high heat resistant iron oxides, ultramarines (referred to as 'nature identical') or dyes.
The pearlescent pigment cross-section has a physical structure similar to pearls; the inner core is a low optical refractive index mica, and the outer layer is a high refractive index metal oxide such as titanium dioxide or iron oxide.
