Application:
1.Electroplating industry:
-Copper sulphate is widely used in electroplating field, it can be used as electroplating primer, mainly applied to copper plating to protect the metal surface and enhance its corrosion resistance.
-In addition, it can also be used for electroplating other metals such as zinc and nickel to improve the surface quality and durability of the materials.
2.Agriculture:
-Copper sulphate is used as a pesticide raw material in agriculture for the production of fungicides and insecticides, which have obvious control effects on crop diseases such as grape scab and apple gall mite disease.
-It can also be used as a trace element fertiliser to provide plants with essential copper elements, improve the stability of chlorophyll and promote crop growth.
-Copper sulphate aqueous solution has bactericidal effect and can be used to kill fungi; mixed with lime water to generate Bordeaux solution can control a variety of fungal diseases of crops.
3. Medicine and health:
-Copper sulfate has some medicinal value, it can be used to treat acute copper poisoning, by promoting the excretion of copper in the body to reduce the symptoms of poisoning.
-In some cases, it is also used in the treatment of acute hepatitis, chronic hepatitis and other diseases.
Copper sulfate also exhibits antioxidant properties that can aid in the treatment of skin conditions such as melasma and acne.
4.Chemistry Education and Research:
-Copper sulfate pentahydrate (CuSO4-5H2O) is often used as a source of cationic copper and as a reagent for various chemical reactions in chemistry education laboratories due to its distinctive blue colour and solubility in water.
-In chemical analysis, it is an important reagent for quantitative analysis, especially in gravimetric and titrimetric analyses, copper sulfate is often used as one of the components of the standard solution.
5. Other industrial uses:
Copper sulphate is also widely used as a medium in the dyeing and printing industry, and in water treatment for sterilisation, algae control and corrosion protection.
