Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) was first used as a handwashing agent for healthcare workers . Since that time, aqueous CHG agents have been widely used as an effective antiseptic handwashing and surgical scrub . The use of CHG for antiseptic skin prepping was studied in the early 1990s . Dr . Maki compared the use of 2% aqueous CHG, 70% Alcohol, and 10% Povidone-Iodine (the most common
iodophor) for skin prepping prior to surgical procedures . The results of this study showed that use of an aqueous 2% CHG
substantially reduced the incidence of procedure-related infections.

Another study showed Chlorhexidine was more efficacious than Povidone-Iodine skin preparation in reducing contamination of blood cultures .In recent time, antiseptic skin prepping agents that contain a combination of two antiseptics, CHG/IPA, are favored by clinicians.
CHG Prep swab is a medical swab stick that is used to sanitize the skin. it is made of medical-grade 100PPI open-cell polyurethane foam and white polypropylene handle. It is with a formulation of 2% Chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG) and 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) to meet the strict clinical requirements. Chlorhexidine is a chemical antiseptic and is also bacteriostatic which means it can kill both gram-positive and gram-negative microbes even more bacteria compared with traditional Iodophor swabs and Alcohol swabs.
Cleanmo's sterile Swab Sticks come in many different shapes and sizes. These make it more convenient and choice for Clients. Chlorhexidine solution: Chlorhexidine is a broad-spectrum fungicide that is effective in killing gram-positive, gram-negative

1. Its concentration makes it have good bacteriostatic (i.e. inhibiting the growth of bacteria) and bactericidal (killing bacteria) medicinal functions. Chlorhexidine does this by destroying cell membranes.
2. Based on in vitro applications, Chlorhexidine can be 100% accurate within 30 seconds Kill gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Chlorhexidine's formula kills a variety of microbes, but there is still a chance Risk of infection.
