Maintenance
1. The mouthpiece of the trombone should be cleaned up before being put into the case.
2. The rotary part of the rotating valve rod, rotary valve and ball-end shaft should be oiled regularly. After being oiled, the rotary valve should be pressed several times to make the
l ubricating oil uniformly distributed to the rotary valve. Thus, the rotary valve can work smoothly.
3. The slide tube can be oiled in the following procedures. Wipe out the residual oil on the inner slide tube using the
clean soft cloth. Evenly coat the whole inner slide tube with the slide tube oil in an appropriate amount. A thin layer of
oil is enough. Place the inner slide tube into the outer one and slide it several times.
4. As for the trombone with the piston, the piston can be applied with the oil as follows.
a. First, unscrew the nut and take out the piston.
b. Second, apply several drops of oil to the piston surface, cylinder pipe and nut thread.
c. Third, place the piston into the cylinder pipe and tract it several times. If the spring of the bass instrument is taken
out, please put it back.
d. Fourth, press the piston and pull out all the pitch pipes to clean the accumulated water. After being cleaned up, the
pitch pipes should be painted with the slide grease and then put them into their positions.
e. The inside of the slide tube can be cleaned with the cleaning swab or resilient cleaning brush so as to make the musical
instrument in an optimal state.
f. The fingerprint on the surface of the product should be wiped out with the attached soft cloth in order to protect the
coating.
