Making Process
Bamboo furniture is made by cutting the stalk of the bamboo plant into sections and then constructing the shape of the furniture by gluing together the cut stalks.
The Production of Bamboo Furniture involves different stages such as frame making with bamboo , Polishing and rounding with processed thin cane where shaping is done with the help of wooden tool called Mungri .
Lengthy Bamboo sticks are cut into required sizes then immersed in water for 2 hours to absorb the moisture. Now the bamboo stick is heated in order to bend it.
Various parts of the furniture are joined together by weaving using thin cane strips and then the ends of the products are nailed and fixed.
Simple weaving patterns enhances the furniture . Finally the product is rubbed with sand paper and polished.
