Ti2SnC ceramic is a new kind of structural ceramic with special layered structure and machinable.It has excellent properties of both metal and ceramic: similar to metal, it has good conductivity.Thermal conductivity, machinability, high damage tolerance and thermal shock resistance; Similar to ceramics,It has high elastic modulus, high temperature resistance, oxidation resistance and corrosion resistance.Based on the above advantages, Ti3SnC2 ceramics may be widely used as a matrix or reinforcementIt is used in aviation, aerospace, electronic information and other high-tech fields.
Although Ti2SnC ceramics have excellent comprehensive properties and broad application prospects It is difficult to prepare and control the purity, so the application of Ti3SnC2 ceramics is limited. As described in the literature (J. Am. Ceram. Soc. 96, No.102013)Fe is the sintering aid, at 1150. Hot pressed sintered element mixed powder under C and 50 MPa pressure for 10h,Ti2SnC ceramics containing FexSny, Sn and TiC were obtained. Literature (J. Am. Ceram. Soc99，No. 72016), using Ti, Sn and graphite as raw materials 1600 in tubular furnace. Ti3SnC2 ceramics containing Sn and TiC impurities were obtained after sintering for 4 h. The preparation method described above has a long sintering holding time, and the generated impurity phases TiC and FexSny.It is difficult to remove, which has a very adverse effect on the performance of Ti2SnC ceramics. Therefore, high purity is prepared Ti2SnC ceramics based on Ti2SnC are of great significance for the wide application of this material.
