Ball Mill Features

Ball mill Working principle
The ball mill is a horizontal rotating device transmitted by the outer gear. The materials are transferred to the grinding chamber through the quill shaft uniformly. There are ladder liner and ripple liner and different specifications of steel balls in the chamber. The centrifugal force caused by rotation of barrel brings the steel balls to a certain height and impact and grind the materials. The ground materials are discharged through the discharging board thus the grinding process is finished
Ball mill grinds material by rotating a cylinder with a steel grinding ball, causing the ball to fall back into the cylinder and onto the material to be grinded. The rotation speed is usually from 4 to 20 revolutions per minute, depending on the diameter of the mill. The larger the diameter, the slower the rotation. If the circular speed of the mill is too high, it will start to act like a centrifuge, and the ball will not fall, but stay around the mill. The point at which a mill becomes a centrifuge is called the "critical speed," and ball mills typically operate at 65 to 75 percent of that critical speed.

Applicable Materials
