Causticized Lignite is a lignite humic acid derivative obtained from lignite under the condition of the sulfonating at proper temperature. It is brown-black powder, and is a kind of fresh water drilling viscosity depressant and filtration loss control agent, can resist the temperature of 200°C ~ 220°C. It is a kind of cost-effective mud conditioner.

Causticized Lignite is mainly used in petroleum, geological exploration drilling. In the drilling mud, it has a significant role in reducing filtrate loss and viscosity. It can be used together with many kinds of drilling fluids directly. Frequently used with Humic acid kalium, SPNH, Sulfonated phenol formaldehyde resin etc. Normal dosage is 2.0-3.0%

Description

Causticized Lignite is a partially soluble additive that provides thin, low-permeability filter cakes accompanied by low fluid loss. It controls rheology and reduces fluid loss, extends temperature limits, emulsifies oil, reduces flocculation and stabilizes water base drilling fluids In solution, it has an alkaline pH, therefore it does not require large caustic additions to maintain a stable pH.

Application & Features
Causticized Lignite may be used for rheology and filtration control in water base muds and for helping maintain a constant pH. It is especially effective at stabilizing the properties of muds exposed to high temperatures and contaminations such as calcium.

Causticized Lignite is especially effective in high temperature applications and in dispersed systems as a synergistic additive with lignosulfonates. It can be used in any water base fluid.

Causticized Lignite does not require additional treatments with caustic soda. It is most effective in mud systems with an alkaline pH in the range of 9 - 11.

Causticized Lignite stables shale formation, restrains the wall collapsed, and reduces viscosity and fluid loss function.

At the same time, Causticized Lignite also can form thin and dense mud cake. And it can reduce pressure differential sticking.
