ROMME is played with a deck of 54 cards in 2 decks, with the same numbers from 1 to 13, and K, D, B instead of K, Q, J. The game is played by making specific patterns with cards in hand and "fusing" the cards with the playing cards on the table, and the first player to fuse all the cards in hand wins.

The King of spades and King of diamonds are used as the cover of ROMME, symbolizing its similarity to traditional solitaire but with different ingenuity. It is sold in packs of two decks according to the characteristics of the game.

In addition, Germany uses K, D, B (King, Queen, Knight) instead of the common K, Q, J. Different numbers of cards are used to correspond to a variety of traditional gameplay, such as ROMME's 54-card pack (including 2 ghost cards), SKAT's 32-card pack, and DOPPELKOPF's 50-card pack.
