Traffolyte
The traditional, phenolic plastic engraving sheet with 3 coloured layers so engraved lettering or shapes are revealed in colours different to the non engraved area.

Available in multiple colours and 1.5mm or 3mm thicknesses. This material is rigid which can make it brittle, and although otherwise very hard wearing, it is not UV stable. Other benefits include acid and alkali resistant.

Flexible engraving laminates
These materials have typically replaced traffolyte thanks to a wider range of colours (see colour chart), thicknesses, layering options and shatterproof properties. Available in 2 or 3 layers in smooth and textured finishes and ranging from 0.5mm to 6mm thick. The textured version is extremely hard wearing and UV stable, although has a more limited range of thickness and colour options. Nearly all of our engraved labels are made using these traffolyte style materials.
