PP is typically modified by the addition of glass fiber, metal additives, or thermoplastic rubber. The PP flow rate MFR ranges from 1 to 40. Low MFR PP materials are more impact resistant but have lower ductility strength. Copolymer strength is greater than homopolymer strength for the same MFR. Shrinkage can be reduced to 0.7% by adding 30% glass additive. Both homopolymer and copolymer PP materials have excellent moisture absorption, acid and alkali corrosion resistance, and solubility.
