Product Features
The 5-bolt idler trailer half axle hub, also known as the end device 5-bolt, has a 4.5 bolt pattern, 1000 pounds per component, and a high-speed rated spindle diameter of 1.25 inches. The spindle protrudes 6.5 inches backwards from the surface of the wheel hub. These 5 bolt hubs and mandrels are equipped with an idler hub and a straight shaft with (5) 1/2 "lug nut, making them versatile.

How to measure the wheel bolt circular lug or bolt style of a trailer? In order to replace the wheel hub on the trailer, you need to understand the bolt pattern or lug pattern. The trailer hub style can be defined by the number of bolts or lugs on each wheel and the diameter of the circle where the bolts are located. Determining the bolt style is quite easy, but accurate measurement is crucial. Most marine trailers on the road have 4, 5, or 6 lug modes. A very common name for the hub of a marine trailer is 5 to 4-1/2, or 545 for short. This means that the hub has 5 bolts evenly distributed on a 4-1/2 "circle (refer to the 5 lug diagram).
Determine the bolt style on the trailer: You need to first calculate the number of lug bolts on a wheel. Most trailer wheels typically have 4 or 5 lugs per wheel/hub. Heavy, high-capacity trailers typically have 6 or 8 lifting eyes per wheel. If the trailer hub has an even number of bolts that secure the wheels, use a ruler, tape measure, or caliper to measure from the center of one bolt to the center of the bolt directly opposite it. The style of the hub lug bolt will be determined by the number of lug bolts and the distance between them relative to the hub bolt (see Figure 4 for lug hub). All lug patterns except for 5 are measured in this way. If your trailer hub has 5 lug bolts, the measured values are slightly different. Select any lug bolt and measure the distance from the back of one lug to the center of the opposite lug. Please ensure to skip one bolt when measuring. Can measure distance in any direction The two most common lug modes are the 4 "on 4" and the 5 "hub on 4-1/2". These hubs typically appear on smaller ships and multi-purpose trailers. Note: If you want to replace an old hub, wheel, integrated hub/drum, or hub/rotor, you should check the bearings for wear and replace them if necessary. When repackaging the trailer hub, be sure to use high-temperature wheel bearing grease.
