Product Description
Description
Anhydrous Calcium Chloride is a white porous fused mass or granule. It is easy to deliquesce. Melting point is 782℃, density is 2.15g/cm3, boiling point is higher than 1600℃, easily soluble in water and release a lot of heat, also soluble in ethanol and acetone. Common is calcium chloride hexahydrate CaCl2-6H2O, colorless tripartite crystals, easy to deliquesce, has a bitter-salty taste, density 1.71g/cm3, 29.92 ℃ dissolved in the water of crystallization. When heated to 30 ℃, it loses four molecules of water and becomes dihydrate (CaCl2-2H2O), which is white, porous and hygroscopic solid, and it can be generated into monohydrate by further heating. When the temperature is higher than 200℃, it completely loses water and becomes anhydrous calcium chloride with strong hygroscopicity. Calcium chloride reacts with ammonia to form the ammonia compound CaCl2-8NH3.
USE
Calcium chloride is used in brine used in refrigeration equipment, road ice melt and desiccant. Because it is susceptible to water absorption and deliquescence in air, anhydrous calcium chloride should be stored in sealed containers. Calcium chloride, its hydrates and solutions have important applications in many areas such as food manufacturing, building materials, medicine and biology. Anhydrous calcium chloride is commonly used in industrial production and laboratory dehydration agent, desiccant (but can not dry ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and alcohol), mainly used for drying gases, petroleum, organic solvents, etc., inorganic industry to do the production of calcium metal, a variety of calcium salts as raw materials, calcium chloride is also used as a textile sizing agent, water purification agent, antifreeze, food preservatives, road surface cleaner. CaCl2-6H2O mixed with ice according to 1.44:1, used as a refrigerant in the laboratory, is also an important refrigerant in the refrigeration industry, can obtain -54.9 ℃ low temperature.
