What is an ethanol fireplace ?
A bio fireplace (also known as bio-ethanol fireplace, ethanol fireplace) is a type of fireplace or furnace with combined zones for generation of heat and technological process – combustion of fuel (denatured alcohol).
This fireplace does not require a chimney and gives off a real flame, not imitation.
Installation is possible at any place in the room.
In simple terms, an ethanol fireplace is a ventless fireplace that runs on clean-burning ethanol fuel. This fuel is alcohol based, creates real flames, and produces no smoke, smell or dangerous chemicals when burning.
This is why they don't require any special chimney, vent, or flue and can be installed virtually anywhere.
How do intelligent ethanol fireplace work ?
Ethanol fireplaces work similarly to a candle.
It burns alcohol-based ethanol fuel. You put fuel into the burner container and light it up .
Intelligent ethanol fireplace is equipped with automatic filling function which can be refilled with a press on button .
And Light the fireplace is as easy as to use remote control /APP or turn it on by voice enabled on Google home/Alexa.
What are the emissions involved ?
The emissions given off by bio ethanol fuel is almost completely comprised of CO2 (carbon dioxide) and water vapor.
The amount of the CO2 emission that comes from an ethanol flame is comparable to that of two medium-sized candles which are very little.
The emitted components are negligible in just about any quantity.
The other hazardous substances of combustion are stockoxide, monoxide, and aldehyde and are not released until they hit a combustion temperature of 700C. Given that the temperature of bio fireplaces is 400C or under, this is not a concern.
Budget ?
You might want to consider the prices of these units. Most units widely differ in their burning capabilities and quality.
For instance, products from Planika and GlammFire can often cost up between $5000 and $8000 while those from inno-living can cost under $2000.
However, just because something is expensive does not necessarily mean it will be of high quality.
Carefully assess all parts of the unit and make your choice.
Maintenance Required ?
As opposed to traditional wood-burning fireplaces, ethanol fireplaces are designed to be easy to clean and maintain. If you're accustomed to a traditional fireplace, you're likely already aware of how much maintenance they need.
From glass cleaning to shoveling out ash, removing soot, and cleaning that chimney, it can be an exhausting process.
The good news is, ethanol fireplaces require none of that.
With an ethanol fireplace, all you need to do is make sure that it is kept full of ethanol and give it a decent cleaning every so often. It's that simple. Even though ethanol burns clean, there may still be a little soot that builds up over time on the burner or other surfaces. This build-up isn't a product of the fuel, of course, but rather the flame itself.
When cleaning, make sure your fireplace is turned off and cool.

Are the bioethanol fires safe for children ?
Again, this is real fire we are talking about, but yes they are safe as it gets. It is definitely not recommended to put a bio
ethanol fire out when small children are around unless it is out of their reach and there is no risk of them being burned. To
ensure that you have extra protection from the flame, make sure to purchase a glass fireplace screen and put it in front of your fireplace. There is also the option of purchasing a wall-mounted fireplace to keep that flame out of the reach of children even when they are unsupervised.
Can I use a flat TV above the fireplace ?
It is totally fine to use flat screen televisions above the ethanol fireplaces. You will definitely need to check whether or not your fire is “closed’ at the top to assess suitability of the entire situation.
Make sure there is a thick, non-flammable material between the top of the fire and the TV – or a heat absorbing “shelf” – to ensure that your television remains safe above the source of the flame.
CAN I USE BIO ETHANOL AS A BBQ LIGHTING FLUID ?
This is absolutely not recommended. Use it for its intended purpose: fueling your bio ethanol fireplace. That is its only intended use so don’t try it with anything else.
