5.0 out of 5 stars These work well for a yoga swing

I bought these to hang my yoga hammock/ yoga trapeze in my home office. They work great for that. Some folks may prefer a bar to hang their yoga swing from so that they can adjust the width, but since I have an A-frame roof with exposed beams, these were less obtrusive. I think I hung them too wide for the yoga hammock for my size and I think I will get a bar and put a chain through it to connect with carabiners to the Heavy Duty Swing Hangers. That way I can easily adjust the width of the yoga hammock across the bar. These hangers were a great deal for something so heavy duty. I feel completely secure with them bolted into the beams. (In the photos, those masses of black webbing are completely unnecessary. I used my regular hammock straps to extend the hammock lower towards the ground, and bunched the extra up there out of the way. This is all temporary as I dial-in my set-up.
4.0 out of 5 stars No hardware or hardware recommendations for installation

There are no hardware or instructions included. I used 1/2" galvanized lag screws (4" long) with a 5/16 pilot hole. Those babies aren't going anywhere. You could drill A hole through your beam and use lag bolts instead, but if you're using a 4"x6" that means you need a 7" bolt to have enough room to go through the hanger, beam, washer, lock washer and still have enough room for the nut. The hardware for that will run you about $10/ set. You will also need a drill bit long enough to get through the beam and if you mess up, it's a serious pain. (I'll stick with the screws)
As for the hangers, the bolt that goes through horizontally gets in the way a bit when trying to use a socket wrench to tighten down your screws/ bolts. I had to resort to using a crescent wrench 1/4 turn at a time once I got close to having them screwed in. 2 out of six gave me this problem. Like other reviewers stated, they are very sturdy, quite, and swing smoothly. I really feel they should come with spacing and hardware recommendations.
Disclaimer! I am not a professional swing set builder, just a mom who builds a lot of stuff. Use these with the hardware you feel most appropriate at your own risk.
5.0 out of 5 stars Extreme hardware, these things are great! Gives me a lot of confidence they will hold up well.

These things were even better than I expected! They are very very solid and heavy duty. If anything on my swing ever breaks or fails, it won't be this part of it, these things are built like tanks! They came well packaged and protected. This is one case where I feel like I really got my money's worth, and when you are building a swing for your kid you don't want to skimp on the hardware and have it fail, so these give me a lot of peace of mind that his swing will not break on him, or even from me using it! Including a photo with a bottlecap for size.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Hinges

These swing hinges are installed and working great. I applied a few drops of machine oil and they are completely silent. I used 1/2 x 3.5 inch lag screws to attach the hinges to the 4x8 patio beam. (3/8" pilot hole worked well.) I used these for a children's swing. I am counting on the weight rating being realistic as I am planning to install a wooden patio swing and use another set of these hinges for a more substantial weight. They are pretty hefty hinges and it looks obvious that the limiting component will be the carabiner.

Product arrived with sturdy, useful swing hangers inside. Product served its intended purpose by entertaining my youngest son while he swung on securely fastened infant swing.
5.0 out of 5 stars EXACTLY what I needed for a high-end Porch Swing.

I used these to install a 600lb rated porch swing.
Installed using 1/2" x 4 1/2" galvanized bolts with a lock washer, large washer and nut above the double 2x6 (laid flat & secured firmly to the porch trusses) above the porch soffit.
FYI: Before you buy the hardware, have the swing hanger in hand to confirm good fit.
Do not use carriage bolts, as the flat head is too wide to slide past the nuts on the pivot points. Even if you can get the flat head past the pivot points, the carriage bolts usually have a square or hex base beneath the flat head that does NOT fit into the precisely drilled 1/2" diameter hole.
5.0 out of 5 stars Smooth, quiet, and sturdy hangers - MUCH nicer than the "hook on a triangle" style.

The old hangers on our swing set were single pieces that went all the way through the beam, and ended in a triangular section underneath, where the "eyelet" hooks are supposed to rotate. After years of use, the triangles now turn sideways. The attached eyelets would slide front to back, instead of rotating, squeaking and squealing on every swing. I wanted something more secure - I found these!
These hangers are incredibly sturdy. Each one attaches to the beam in two places, so they won't turn sideways. The swing motion is very quiet and smooth, with a LOT less friction than the old style. My wife noticed the difference, saying it is easier to push our children on the swings! The kids like them too because they are so smooth and quiet. I like them because they are sturdy enough to support an adult - nice that we can get on a swing right next to our kids!
I highly recommend them.
4.0 out of 5 stars It would be nice if they came with bolts.

Same thing as what is on the rainbow playset but bolts are impossible to find to put through the beam. When you do find them you will pay 2 to 3 times the amount for the bolts as you do for these. If you have a 4 inch beam then you wont have a problem, but if you have the 6 inch beam from rainbow playsystems good luck finding bolts. I rated it 4 stars because the swing hangers are solid but it would be nice if bolts were included.
