AWS Classification: ER5356
5356 (commonly referred to as AlMgS) is a 5% magnesium aluminum filler metal that is available for MIG or TIG welding processes.
Common applications would be base metals 5050, 5052, 5083. 5356, 545,1 and 5456

ER5356 is a general-purpose, all-position aluminum welding rod used to weld 5000 series aluminum base metals.
The weld deposit of 5356 offers much better corrosion resistance when exposed to salt water. And it has relatively high shear strength as well as excellent corrosion resistance to salt water.
