We usually recognize 11 types of larch (particularly from colder moderate zone of north hemisphere), 2 from Europe, 1 type grows in the CR ( Larix decidua), i.e. European larch. Latin name is deciduus = deciduous. Larch manages harsh climate, however it has increased requirements for soil carrying capacity and its fresh moisture content. It can reach up to 60m height and age of 800 years. Larch is extensive in Central Europe - particularly in the Alps, Carpathian mountains, South Polish upland, Jeseníky foothills. Larch is divided into 4 groups based on its occurrence: Alpine larch, Carpathian larch, Polish larch, Silesian (Jesenice) larch. Nowadays larch makes up 3,9% of forests of the Czech Republic. Larch wood is solid, flexible and quite light. It has high durability in water - in the past it was used for water constructions, water
pipes, gutters. Larch core is still used for shingles. It is valued as a timber for construction and furniture.

Colour : Yellowish or reddish white sapwood, reddish brown up to dark red-brown heartwood, darkens. When strongly heated by sunlight the resin can flow out.

Wood density : approx. 550kg/m3

Uses:
Windows, doors, usable as a layered wood, garden furniture, parquets, floors and facades.

Depending on the wood species, REAL DECK outdoor wooden decking is either kiln-dried or air-dried, with storage areas adapted to its specific parameters. For kiln-dried material with a humidity of 14-18%, we have built rack storage systems inside the air-conditioned hall to ensure that changes in moisture and degradation of materials due to weathering are minimal. Each pallet is firmly stacked. Air-dried timber with humidity up to 20% is stored in outdoor covered racking systems, where it is left for approximately 1/3 of the year before the actual sale due to moisture stabilisation in Central Europe.
