Yttrium fluoride applications
Used in the preparation of rare earth crystal laser materials, upconversion luminescent materials, fluoride glass optical fibre and fluoride spin glass. It is used in the manufacture of carbon electrodes for arc lamps in lighting sources. It is the raw material for electrolytic production of yttrium metal.
