1.Where is turbo located in engine?
The turbocharger is bolted to the exhaust manifold of the engine. The exhaust from the cylinders spins the turbine, which works like a gas turbine engine. The turbine is connected by a shaft to the compressor, which is located between the air filter and the intake manifold
2.Can you drive a turbo engine without a turbo?
In theory, yes. If you remove the turbocharger, bolt a piece of pipe into the exhaust, close the turbine intake on the manifold,then yes, the engine would still run, but without producing much power because turbocharged engines usually have lower geometric compression.
