Duplex Rotor Flow Meter (hereinafter referred to as the flow meter), also known as twin-screw flow meter, is one type of volumetric flow meter. A pair of screw rotors is the only moving body in the metering chamber, and it plays the role of segmentation, measurement, transporting and discharging the measured liquid. The model of flow meter adds the positioning gear in its structure, so that the two rotors do not contact each other during rotation. During working, it is featured by smooth operation, low noise, less wear, high accuracy and high viscosity adaptability, and it allows the fine particles in liquid to be measured to pass, therefore the meter will not be stuck easily.

Features

l It is applicable to thin oil, light oil, heavy oil and the crude oil with high sediment concentration and high water content, and the liquid to be measured has large measuring range of viscosity.

l The maximum flow rate of fluid passing through the flow meter is twice that of the ordinary strapping table of the same drift diameter.

l The pressure loss is minimal.

l It is classified into mechanical counter and electronic counter with a variety of output options, such as pulse, equivalent, 4-20MA, RS485 and Hart protocol, etc.

Operating Principle

As shown in the figure below, the flow meter directly measures the volume of liquid flow through a pair of special screw rotor with rotation.

The flow meter completes the measurement of fluid flow in the metering chamber. A pair of screw rotors rotates at the pressure of liquid, and a enclosed space (shaded portion in the figure) is formed between the rotor and the metering chamber wall. 8 times volume of the shaded portion is discharged upon each rotation. Therefore, according to this flow relationship, only by calculation of the number of rotor rotation, the cumulative amount of flow can be calculated. According to the number of rotation per second, you can calculate the instantaneous flow.
