Jack Daniel's Old n.7 Tennessee differs from Bourbon whiskey by its unique drip filtration through three meters of maple charcoal. Alcohol obtained from fermented wheat, rey and malted barley. It has an alcohol content of 40% vol. Amber-looking and caramel and vanilla smell. It evolves with a note of maple wood smoke and caramelized sugar. The presence of licorice is also evident.
Caramelized sugar and a tip of orange juice also return to the palate to make the taste a little more acrid. Licorice present and perhaps not too amalgamated with the whole, but it is a distinctive character of JD. There is also fresh freshly roasted coffee. Overall it is a mistura of very different and sometimes contrasting flavors but overall not badly integrated. Vanilla brings back a kind of balance, with a final tip of maple juice although it remains an edgy and rough side.
