Introduction:
KOLORTEK D&C Red No. 27 Aluminum Lake is a drug and cosmetic synthetic dye. it is a safe additive for drugs and cosmetics . In cosmetics, it can be used externally and in general cosmetics, including lipsticks and in cosmetics close to the eye.
Lakes are formed by reacting straight dyes (such as D&C Red No. 27) with precipitants and salts. Aluminum is often a component. Lakes may be used as color additives for tablet coatings due to their stability, and may also be used for cosmetics such as eye shadows or lipsticks.
Description: Color group: red. Organic, high-purity pigment. Insoluble but miscible in water & oils.

Properties: Provides superior color purity & saturation, oil soluble, water insoluble (but good dispersibility & no aggregate formation).
Use: Can be tinted with titanium dioxide to create light red shades. For best results wet in oil before use. External use only.
Applications: Decorative cosmetic products including lipsticks, nail lacquers & face makeup (in USA prohibited for eye makeup), personal care products, soaps.
