Alumina Protection Tube is designed as an immersion device to protect a thermocouple while measuring the temperature of molten metal. The tubes are available in a wide range of materials for aluminum applications as well as copper-based alloys. Compositions include alumina, silicon carbide, fused silica, and Larsenite, and alumina/silicon carbide composite. Typical tolerance of these parts are ±.005 inches per linear inch.
Thermocouple protection tubes are available as a closed-end tube with a reusable stainless steel coupling device. This device allows for two methods of use: The thermocouple protection tube can be hung by the flange or attached via the threaded end of the coupling
device.
