Product Description
Flat fan nozzles are hydraulically driven and produce a flat fan pattern one of two ways. The nozzle either has an angled cut or a sloping deflection face to create the fan spray pattern.

There are many different nozzles that fall into the fan type nozzle. The following direct pressure nozzles produce a flat fan spray pattern.
Flat fan spray nozzles are available in a range of fittings that include; threaded fittings, nozzle tips and body assemblies, dovetail fittings and quick release set-ups. We also include pencil jets or straight jet nozzles (no spray angle at all) in this range. Spray angles range from 0° all the way up to 150°.
Product Paramenters
B3,B4/5 series flat fan spray nozzles are the most popular and most common flat fan nozzles we manufacture. They are split into; low flow rate nozzles (available in 1/8″ and 1/4″) / standard flow rate nozzles (available in1/8″ and 1/4″ & 3/8″) and large flow rate nozzles (available in 1/2″ / 3/4″ and 1″ thread sizes). Spray angles range from 0° to 120°.

Washing: parts cleaning, food cleaning, filter cloth cleaning
Spray: spray of chemicals, disinfectant and lubricatingfluids
Cooling: metal parts and vehicles cooling
Other applications: water curtain for toxic gases separation, cleaning systems
In steel works they are used in the pickling process to remove surface oxides layers formed during the hot metalwork.

Precise measurements have long been the basis for clearly defined spray characteristics at IDST. We attach great importance to the right nozzle measurement technology. Only the reliable detection of all functional parameters can turn a nozzle into a precision nozzle. This is the reason that we operate a large number of test benches, which are tailored to the respective field of application of our products. This allows us to document the parameters relevant to the particular nozzle application helping us to
develop the optimal nozzle. For our customers this means: time savings, cost reduction and planning security.
Our company follows a path of continuous improvement of efficiency, that goes from a proper order handling, product quality and
delivery times, to the choice of the most appropriated packing materials. We shall be happy to welcome our customers when willing to visit our engineering office, laboratory, quality control department and some production departments. Some of our machines and their operation, having been studied and developed from our company, also can be shown to visitors. All our products are designed and built in our workshop in Shenzhen, or in additional workshops belonging to our group, which gives us full control of all manufacturing operations.

What design characteristics define this flat fan nozzle?
|
|
All nozzles in the fan family are hydraulically driven and have one of two main design characteristics that generate the flat fan pattern. Nozzles like the B1 to B15 series manipulate the orifice by having a slit into the nozzle that guides the flow into a specific spray pattern. The spray angle of these slitted nozzles is determined both by the angle of the cut and the depth of the cut. The deeper and more narrow the cut, the wider the spray angle.
Other fan nozzles like the B16 and B17 series use a deflection face to guide and form the fan pattern. The orifice passes the fluid, and a sloping face directs and generates the pattern. A longer and more narrow deflection face will produce a more narrow spray angle where a wider and short face will produce a wider

What are the common spray angles and coverage?

Most flat fan nozzles are able to achieve a wide variety of spray angles. Our flat fan nozzles usually produce a spray angle from 120° to 0° with a multitude of options in between. Some special extra-wide flat fan nozzles like the B16 series can produce angles as wide as 145°.

Fan nozzles are one of the most versatile nozzles types and can be implemented in countless different applications. Depending on the nozzle and flow rate that the application demands, flat fan nozzles can provide over 1800.00 lpm and can produce flow rates as low as 0.3 lpm if necessary.

What are some examples of why you would choose this type of nozzle over others?

Flat fan nozzles are often times the most advantageous choice for conveyor belt applications. Whenever something is moving and has to be washed, wetted or coated, fan nozzles are often your best choice. Examples of this are conveyor belt cleaning, suppressing coal dust on a conveyor and coating molds with lubrication.
When a high impact force is necessary for either cleaning or other applications, a fan style nozzle may give you the most optimal results. The B17 series and narrow-angled NF nozzles will provide a large impact force while generating relatively low flow rates.
