Phenolic resin
============
Phenolic resin is also called bakelite, also known as bakelite powder. It is white powder or yellowish brown powder, granular, resistant to weak acid and weak alkali, decomposed in case of strong acid and corroded in case of strong alkali. Insoluble in water, soluble in acetone, alcohol and other organic solvents. It is obtained by polycondensation of phenol aldehyde or its derivatives.
Phenolic resin, with good substrate adhesion and heat resistance, is widely used in rubber coating industry. The resin has good comprehensive properties, good mechanical properties, electrical properties and creep resistance. Good hot workability, low molding shrinkage, good hardness and rigidity.
Phenolic resin is mainly used in the manufacture of various plastics, coatings, adhesives and synthetic fibers.
