Product specification
Tungsten-Rhenium Thermocouple Wire
Product Information
Tungsten-rhenium thermocouples were the first successful refractory metal thermocouples developed by Goedecke in 1931 and developed in the 1960s and 1970s. The tungsten-rhenium thermocouple has a wide temperature range, large thermoelectric value, high sensitivity, good linearity of temperature and thermoelectric potential, fast temperature measurement reaction and good thermal stability, and is a good thermal sensing material. Suitable for high temperatures and temperature measurement in vacuum, reducing atmospheres and inert atmospheres, which is unmatched by other types of thermocouples.
Classification of tungsten-rhenium thermocouples There are two types of tungsten-rhenium thermocouples that are listed in national standards in China:
A. Tungsten Rhenium 5-Tungsten Rhenium 26, its positive electrode nominal composition is 95% Tungsten, 5% Rhenium, the nominal composition of the negative electrode is 74% Tungsten, 26% Rhenium . The graduation number is WRe5-WRe26, shorthand: W-Re5/26 (ASTM graduation number: C).
B.Tungsten Rhenium 3-Tungsten-Rhenium 25, whose nominal composition of the positive electrode is 97% Tungsten, 3% Rhenium, and the nominal composition of the negative electrode is 75% Tungsten and 25% Rhenium. The graduation number is WRe3-WRe25, shorthand:W-Re3/25 (ASTM graduation number: D).

Temperature
the maximum use temperature of tungsten rhenium thermocouple can reach 2800 ° C, can be more than 2300 ° C, the data is dispersed, so the use temperature is best around 2000 ° C.
Working Environment
tungsten-rhenium thermocouple bare wire is very easy to oxidize, suitable for use in inert or dry hydrogen, or with a dense protective tube to isolate it from oxygen to use. The bare wire cannot be used in a carbon-containing atmosphere (for example, in a hydrocarbon-containing atmosphere, and the temperature is more than 1000 ° C, which is corroded). Tungsten or tungsten ruthenium tends to form stable carbides in a carbon-containing atmosphere, so that its sensitivity is lowered and brittle fracture is caused, and in the presence of hydrogen, carbonization is accelerated.
