Securing the camera for long term stability

What affects the camera in the long term is the following:

1. Vibrations caused by passing balls and pinsetter activity.

2. Dust.
3. Oil deposit.

You should take preventative steps against vibrations as they can alter focus, aperture and horizontal position of the camera (the camera can move around the axis of the fixing screw). You should use at least 4 screws to fasten the camera base plate to the capping, then you should cut the portion of capping to which you will fasten the structure, in order to achieve a mounting base completely detached from the main run of capping. By doing this you will obtain a stable structure, less likely to be affected by the continual impact of balls. As a final preventative measure, once the camera is correctly positioned, tighten the mounting 13mm nut underside of base plate. If all the previous steps have been accurately carried out, executing some simple software controlled actions should perform any correction to initial settings, so that no mechanical adjustments are required.
