Installation Steps:

1. Open the hood, locate CCV, remove dipstick.
2. Loosen 4 screws(8mm) of cover to take it off. Remove oil fill cap.
3. Remove 8 bolts(8mm) on the crankcase vent cover.
4. Unplug electrical connector in the back left.
5. Open CCV filter cover, pop out the old CCV filter. (Keep mind there are couple houses attached in the back left.)
6. Seat new CCV filter in. Lubricate gaskets for a quick fit.

What is CCV Filter?

• The Crankcase Ventilation Filter(CCV) sits on top of the valve cover, where positive pressure is released, and air intake to and from the atmosphere takes place.
• All 2007.5 and newer 6.7L Cummins engines have a crankcase vent filter that is located on top of the valve cover assembly and under the dress cover.

When Should Replace?

• 1. Vehicle almost traveled 67,500 miles.
• The factory suggested change interval for the CCV is 67,500 miles/100,000km. Due to the fact that the CCV breather tube is routed to the turbo inlet, it's recommended to perform shorter change intervals to help minimize oil vapor coating of the turbo compressor wheel.
  2. Clear warning appears on the dash.
• "Service Perform" message will come up on your dash, which means you need to change CCV Filter to solve this problem.
  3. Crankcase filter is clogged.
• Per Dodge, a message on your overhead console will alert you when the crankcase vent filter becomes clogged.
