How ORBITA  electronic hotel locks system works?
Our hotel locking system consists of following:

-Hotel card lock (Installed on the hotel room door)
-PC(usually located on the reception desk of hotel lobby)
-Hotel lock management software(Download to PC,setting the software system )

-Encoder (Connect to PC,Issue the cards)
-Cards (Open doors)

CARD FUNCTIONS:

Fu n ction card : Program locks
Guest card : Reception complete program Guest card by give a begin and expiry date for a room(rooms). Guest access room by read this card on lock
Master card :Hold by housekeeping to access to all rooms of hotels
Floor card : Hold by clean staff to enter the rooms in one floor.
Building card : Hold by manager to enter the rooms in one building

Maintenance card : Can open a specific lock within a period of time or a few times.
Group card : Can open all doors of the same group within a period of time .
Passage card : Once this card been read on one door, this door could be access by without reading keycard
Emergency card : Enter the all rooms

Clock card :Set the time of lock's inbuilt clock.

Blocking card : Access to every door of the same locking system can be blocked by this card.

Error Indications and Solutions

Problem	Possible Reason	Solution
Red light blinks two times and two beeps.	a) The card is not issued for this door. b) The staff/maintenance card has lost its validity after being used for a few times.	Use the correct card; Or issue a new maintenance card
Red light blinks three times and three beeps.	The time of the card does not match that of the lock.	Synchronize the time either/both of the card or/and the lock.
Red light blinks four times and four beeps.	The lock has not been authorized.	Authorize the lock with a card or a PP.
Red light blinks five times and five beeps.	The card has been suspended.	Issue a new card.
Red light blinks six times and six beeps.	The lock has been deadbolted.	If need be, gain access to the room with a master card, an emergency card or a PP.
Red light blinks seven times and seven beeps.	The lock has been blocked by a block card.	If need be, gain access to the room with a master card, an emergency card or a PP, or unblock the lock with the lock card.
Red light blinks eight times and eight beeps.	The lock has been authorized by another system.	Use cards issued by that system; Or perform mandatory authorization if need be.

FAQ:

Q: Will your lock panel and handle rust ?

A: Our stainless steel model will never rust since the material is 304 stainless steel. And the golden color lock is PVD coated which last quite a long time then normal coating technology.

Q: What is the difference between American lock and Eu lock ?

A: The main difference is the mortise. American lock use 5 latch ansi type mortise while European lock uses 2 or 3 latch mortise. However, European mortise is thinner and can be installed on those thin doors. American locks fit the thick doors( more than 35mm) better.

Q: What is the minimum width of the door frame ?

A: We have different lock models catering to different lock frame width. For standard ansi type(American) traditional mortise, the minimum width of the door frame is 110mm. For our ansi type small mortise, the frame can be 100mm. If the frame width is narrow then 100mm, suggest to use European standard mortise. Like our model E3061.

Q: W hat is the minimum thickness of the door ?

A: Our product range covering door thickness from 25mm to 80mm.If door thickness is less than 32mm, suggest to use our European standard lock.

Q: W hat will happen if a guest loses his room card ?

A: If a guest card is lost, we can simply issue a new guest card to the guest. To make sure the lost card is not used on the door, we can block the lost card when you issue the new card in the system simply by marking “suspend the previous card” option.

Q: Does the lock have a record ?

Yes, all locks have records inside. Each lock can keep 250 pcs records

Q: Can you connect your system to PMS system ?

A: Yes. Generally, all the software can be connected to each other.Either PMS system supplier or we can make a bridge software to connect the two.

For some famous PMS brand such as Fidelio Operator, we have existing bridge software in Fidelio database.

Q: Can you offer online lock system ?

A: We don't have online lock system based on 485 network. But our stand alone lock can realize 95% of the online lock function except on line data download, online programming, online lock status monitoring. The cost of each online lock is about 5 time more than a stand alone lock.

Q: If we re-install the software, do we have to program the locks again ?

A: Software re-installation should be done by professionals only as any mistake during re-installation can lead to serious problems. Usually, locks do not need reprogramming after correct re-installation of the software.

Q: . What maintenance shall we do with the locks ?

A: Usually, in the first year, no need to do any maintenance with the locks, after the first year, you may need to change the battery, lubricate the latches, handles etc. If you find the deadbolt is not so smooth or bend, better to check it. Change the damaged part in time to avoid locking problems.
