The self-hardening sand of ester cured alkaline phenolic resin, compared to that of other resins, is free of N, S, P and other elements to eliminate their harmful effects on the quality of casting surface and the environment pollution.
In addition, when it is used for the higher acid demand value of the base sand, it has better hardening properties , therefore, it can be used as binder of the basic special sand (such as olivine sand, chromite , etc.) to produce high manganese steel castings.
