Around 1.3 million specimens of pressed plants are collected at the National Museum of Nature and Science, Tokyo.
Among them are around 2,000 species of plants endemic to Japan, from which those with unique forms have been carefully selected for the design of this wallpaper.
Each specimen is labeled with not only the name of the plant but also the name of its collection site, the date it was collected, as well as the name of the collector.
Some of the oldest items are historical specimens that were collected all the way back in the Meiji period!
