Working Principle of Flap Type Wave Generator

It is composed of a motor (or hydraulic servo-rotating actuator), a crank-link mechanism, and a swing board. The waves generated by Flap Type Wave Generator can be divided into two sections: stable segment and unstable segment, that is, a stable segment away from the sewing board, and there is a single regular wave about 20 meters away from the wave maker. Except the regular wave beside the swing board, there are disturbed standing waves, which are usually unstable segments. Therefore, in order to reduce the disturbance, the shape, structure, and position of the swing board should be reasonably selected so that the length of the unstable segment can be shortened. (Figure 1)

When designing a Flap Type Wave Generator, the following parameters and problems should be noted:
(1) The relationship between swing board amplitude and wave height;
(2) The choice of swing board height;
(3) Calculation of surface pressure ( hydrostatic pressure, regular fluctuating pressure, inertial fluctuating pressure);
(4) The power calculation of the Flap Type Wave Generator.
