Introduction

5059 aluminum plate belongs to the 5 series AL-Mg alloy, with a low density of only 2.66 g/cm~3, high tensile strength, higher than some low carbon mild steel, and strong resistance to seawater and marine climate corrosion. , and has good welding performance, it is often used in marine engineering. This alloy can be used in ships as small as tens or hundreds of tons, and as large as ships and cruise ships of tens of thousands of tons. The optimal homogenization heat treatment process for 5059 alloy is 460℃×24 h. As the homogenization temperature of the alloy increases, the low melting point second phase quickly dissolves, but an overburned structure appears in the alloy matrix during homogenization at 480°C; when the homogenization temperature is 460°C, after 24 h of heat preservation, the original cast alloy The medium β phase dissolves back to the matrix to a large extent, and the uneven structure and dendrite network structure are basically eliminated. If the holding time is continued, the alloy structure does not change significantly.
