Products Description
The Canine Distemper Adenovirus Combo Rapid Test is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative distinguish diagnosis of canine Distemper virus antigen (CDV Ag), and canine Adenovirus antigen (CAV Ag)in secretions from dog's eyes, nasal cavities or ocular secretions.
Canine Adenovirus
In dogs, there are two different forms of adenovirus that can be harmful to your pet's health. Below, we'll go through both varieties so that dog owners may fully comprehend what each one is, how it functions, and what it can entail for their dog's general health.
Adenovirus comes in a variety of strains, but there are only two that are widely spread. Both of these types proliferate quickly, but the illnesses they cause are very different. Canine adenovirus type 1 (CAV-1) and canine adenovirus type 2 are the names of the first and second, respectively (CAV-2). Unfortunately, the health of a dog can be severely compromised by either Adenovirus type.
Canine Distemper
Canine distemper virus (CDV) (sometimes termed footpad disease) is a viral disease that affects a wide variety of mammal families, including domestic and wild species of dogs, coyotes, foxes, pandas, wolves, ferrets, skunks, raccoons, and felines, as well as pinnipeds, some primates, and a variety of other species.
In canines CDV affects several body systems, including the gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts and the spinal cord and brain. Common symptoms include high fever, eye inflammation and eye/nose discharge, labored breathing and coughing, vomiting and diarrhea, loss of appetite and lethargy, and hardening of nose and footpads. The viral infection can be accompanied by secondary bacterial infections and can present eventual serious neurological symptoms.

2.Insert the wet swab into the provided plastic tubes with buffer. Agitate it to assure good sample extraction. 3. Place the Canine Distemper Adenovirus Combo Rapid Test device on a clean and level surface. Hold the dropper vertically and transfer 3 drops of extracted sample (approximately 120 μl) to the specimen well (S) of the Canine Distemper Adenovirus Combo Rapid Test device, then start the timer. 4. Read the result at 5-10 minutes. Do not interpret results after 15 minutes.
Interpretation of Results
Positive
Two lines appear on the Canine Distemper Adenovirus Combo Rapid Test device. One line should always appear in the control line region(C), and another one apparent colored line should appear in the Canine Distemper Adenovirus Combo Rapid Test line region.
Negative
One colored line appears in the control region(C).No apparent colored line appear in the test line region.
Invalid
Control line fails to appear. Insufficient specimen volume or incorrect procedural techniques are the most likely reasons for control line failure. Review the procedure and repeat the test with a new Canine Distemper Adenovirus Combo Rapid Test device.
