Windshields for these vehicles are typically made from acrylic, impact modified acrylic or polycarbonate.
Acrylic and polycarbonate are ideal materials due to their crack resistance, durability, optical clarity and lightweight.
Both acrylic and polycarbonate can be easily cut, routered, formed, and bent to the appropriate size and shape needed.

The acrylic is a strong plastic material and it’s primary material for a golf cart windshield.
It is not highly durable but is more scratch-resistant.
Polycarbonate is a strong material that is more durable but less stretch resistant.
Should I use acrylic or polycarbonate?
Polycarbonate offers much more resilience than acrylic,
making it ideal for highly demanding applications like bullet-resistant windows. Acrylic has a high gloss finish and is more transparent, making it ideal for display cases.
Acrylic is also easier to crack, while polycarbonate is easier to scratch
