Aramid fiber, known as "aromatic polyamide fiber" in full, is a new high-tech Synthetic fiber, which has excellent properties such as ultra-high strength, high modulus, high temperature resistance, acid and alkali resistance, light weight, etc. Its strength is 5-6 times that of steel wire, modulus is 2-3 times that of steel wire or glass fiber, toughness is twice that of steel wire, and its weight is only about 1/5 of that of steel wire. At 560 ℃, it does not decompose or melt. It has good insulation and anti-aging performance, and has a long life cycle. In addition to special applications, aramid fiber has been widely used as a high-tech fiber material in various aspects of the national economy such as aerospace, electromechanical, construction, automobiles, and sports goods. Aramid fiber is suitable for bulletproof vests, helmets, aerospace materials, sports materials, tire frame materials, conveyor belt materials, etc. It has the properties of insulation, high temperature resistance and aging resistance.

Aramid yarn has the following properties.

1. Good flame retardancy. Generally, the oxygen content in the air is 21%, while the Limiting oxygen index of aramid sewing thread is more than 28%, which is a flame retardant fiber. Therefore, it will not burn in the air and does not support combustion. It has self extinguishing property. 2. Durable thermal stability. The most prominent feature of aramid sewing thread is its high temperature resistance, which can be used for a long time at 220 ℃ without aging. The effectiveness of its electrical and mechanical performance can be maintained for 10 years. 3. The dielectric constant of aramid sewing thread is very low, and its inherent Dielectric strength enables it to maintain excellent electrical insulation under high temperature, low temperature and high humidity conditions. The breakdown voltage of insulation paper prepared from aramid fibers can reach 100000 V/mm, making it an excellent insulation material. 4. Aramid fibers are linear macromolecules composed of aromatic groups connected by amide bonds. In its crystal, hydrogen bonds are arranged on two planes, forming a three-dimensional structure. This strong hydrogen bond makes its chemical structure extremely stable and can resist the corrosion, hydrolysis and steam corrosion of most high concentration Mineral acid and other chemicals. 5. Aramid sewing thread has excellent mechanical properties. As a flexible polymer material, it has the same spinnability as ordinary fibers because of its low stiffness and high elongation.
