Although this product (or let's say this campaign) is a recently launched initiative for a greener planet, it has been one of the top picks of the environment-conscious ladies across the globe. This initiative is inspired by the motto 'from one sister to another'.

Sari (also spelled Saree) is a popular traditional formal dress worn by grown up ladies in Nepal and in the Indian sub-continent. It is a single piece of unstitched cloth wrapped around the waist several rounds with one end draped over the shoulder. In general, this is a costly piece of cloth partly because of its size (generally 5*1.15 meters) and partly because of the materials (such as silk, satin) and its floral or embroidery designs. But sadly, most affluent and some middle class women don't wear them on more than a couple of occasions. Some of them were once used as office or school/college uniforms which are rarely worn on other occasions. That means a lot of resources are being stored in the wardrobe and are finally dumped as trash. It would cost a lot to the environment as they end up in the garbage and new ones are made to meet needs.

Primitive Knitwear came up with an idea to reutilize those stuffs through a new concept, i.e. to redesign them into attractive boutique handbags for ladies. Used sarees are collected through different collection centers or individually, sorted, cleaned, sanitized and designed into different types of bags based on their size, and floral design or clients' requirements. Unlike mass cutting, each piece is cut separately by our creative cutting master and sewn into graceful handbags by female artisans. This definitely takes time and adds a little extra to manufacture homogeneous bags in a large quantity. But on a positive note, each of these products is unique on their own way.
