Coanda screen for water intake
Coanda screens are a great fit for remote locations – there are no moving parts and the gravity drop of the water keeps the screens clean. Although the end product is quite simple and requires very little maintenance, the design of these systems is far from simple.
COANDA SCREEN FEATURES
The faster the water, the better the screen performs. This approach plate accelerates the water to the screen surface using the Coanda effect. An approach plate with a high incline and deep drop gives you the best result. But higher inclines also have a higher chance of jumping the screen during high flow events, and deep drops on the Coanda screen are not optimal for overall site head loss (power generation or pressure flow).
Specifications of Coanda Screen
[One-piece welded construction]
Material: Stainless steel 304, 316, 316L.
Slot size (aperture): 1.0 mm, 1.5 mm or as your need [0.1-2mm].
Profile wire tilt angle: 5 degrees or as your need.
Purpose: Remove trash, stones, leaves, and aquatic life from the stream.
Types: Single Screens, Multiple Screen (for larger hydro projects), Screens with integral sumps.
Application: Small hydro projects as well as for water supply for families, farms, villages and small towns. Hydropower station water withdrawal, water-saving plan, and irrigation plan.
