ASTM D6278 Diesel Fuel Injector Nozzles Shear Stability Tester for Polymer Containing Fluids Oils
This test method covers the evaluation of the shear stability of polymer-containing fluids. The test method measures the percent viscosity loss at 100°C of polymer-containing fluids when evaluated by a diesel injector apparatus procedure that uses European diesel injector test equipment. The viscosity loss reflects polymer degradation due to shear at the nozzle. The device is currently the only test instrument meets ASTM D6278 Method.
Product Features
1. Original German Bos jet pump with nozzle and spray chamber. 2. A Bowie axial nozzle injector with a filter cartridge in the nozzle holder. 3. The spherical cooler has a cooling jacket to allow heat to pass through the wall surface. 4. The liquid flow meter controls the flow rate, digital display, 170cm³±5cm³/min. 5. The automatic stroke counter can automatically cut off the power. 6.250cm³ sump with liquid tank inlet at the top. 7. Siemens three-phase motor, power 1100W, speed 925±25r / min. 8. There is a distribution plate in the glass test tube, and a three-way piston is arranged at the cooling outlet; 9. Microcomputer temperature controller, digital display, accuracy ±1ºC, PT100 sensor. 10. Fully enclosed compressor refrigeration, large cooling capacity and low noise. 11. The digital timer records the test time with a wind alarm. 12. There is an exhaust device at the top of the jet pump. 13. There is an electronic controller for controlling the pressure on the pressure line. The digital display pressure is 17.5Mpa±0.35Mpa.

Operation Steps
1. Fluid reservoir is open on the top, has approximately a 250mL capacity, has a 45-mm inner diameter, and is calibrated in units of volume.
2. It is fitted with an internal fluid distributor. A 40-mm diameter watch glass with serrated edges is an acceptable distributor plate. The distributor reduces the tendency of fluid channeling. Temperature is measured by a thermometer suspended in the center of the fluid reservoir. The bottom of the thermometer bulb shall be 10 to 15mm above the entrance to the drain tube opening.
3. Other temperature measuring equipment positioned at the same location may also be used. The outlet is equipped with a three way stopcock.
4. The three way stopcock is of a cone type with a non exchangeable solid plug with an 8-mm nominal bore size. Transparent, plastic tubing, is used to connect the three-way stopcock to the pump inlet.
