What is 72 Ferrosilicon Lumpused for?
72 Ferro Silicon Lumps is an alloy of iron and silicon. Ferro Silicon Alloy 72 is an iron-silicon alloy made from coke, steel scraps, and quartz (or silica) as raw materials and smelted in an electric furnace. Common uses of FeSi 72 are as follows:
(1) 72 Ferro silicon Granules is an essential deoxidizer in the steelmaking industry. In steelmaking, Iron Silicon 72 is used for precipitation deoxidation and diffusion deoxidation. Brickiron is also used as an alloying agent in steelmaking.
(2) Used as an inoculant and spheroidizing agent in the cast iron industry. In the production of ductile iron, Iron Silicon Alloy 72 is an important inoculant (helping to precipitate graphite) and nodularizing agent.
(3) Used as a reducing agent in ferroalloy production. Not only is the chemical affinity between silicon and oxygen high, but high-silicon ferrosilicon has a very low carbon content.
