What is Ethylene Glycol?

Ethylene glycol / Meg is an organic compound with the formula (CH2OH)2.

It is mainly used for two purposes, as a raw material in the manufacture of polyester fibers and for antifreeze formulations .

Application

Ethylene glycol/Meg is a useful industrial compound found in many consumer products.
1.Ethylene glycol is mainly used for making polyester fiber, polyester resin, dehumidifying agents, plasticizers, surfactants, synthetic fibers,
2.ethylene glycol can be used as a dye / ink solvent, the preparation of the engine antifreeze, gas dehydration.
3.ethylene glycol is used for the production of synthetic resin, PET, or polyester fiber grade PET, bottle grade PET film used to produce mineral water bottles.
4.MEG can also produce alkyd resins, also used as antifreeze.
