There are several features about our products:

Features:
Keyed Different (KD)
Each lock is opened by its own unique key that does not open any other lock in the set.
Keyed Different is the standard keying default on Master Lock and American Lock padlocks.
Keyed Alike (KA)
All padlocks in the set are opened by the same key. This option provides "same key" convenience and eliminates the need for multiple keys where numerous padlocks are used. KA in the product number (3KA) designates that the products are Keyed Alike. In some cases the customer can select a key code for the KA locks
Master Keyed (MK)
In a Master Keyed system, a master key opens all the locks in the system although each lock also has its own unique key. This permits organizing master key systems along departmental or other functional lines to allow supervisory or emergency access.
MK in the product number designates that the products will be Master Keyed.
If the customer is adding on to an existing MK system, please specify the master key code.
Write-on “Danger” labels

Additional padlock labels are available for Master Lock & American safety padlocks including multi-lingual, wrap around laminated and photo ID labels.
Photo ID Labels
Allow on-site addition of an employees picture to easily & quickly identify the worker who applied the padlock. These labels are also helpful in workplaces where multiple languages are used or language is a general issue. Photo is applied under a layer of laminate for extra durability.
Wrap-around Labels
Feature “Danger; Do Not Remove This Lock” text on the front and “This Lock Belongs To” text on the front for write-on abilities. Label is applied with a protective laminate for extra durability.

KEYING OPTIONS
Safety Padlock Key Systems
Usually, each lock is paired with a different/unique key to ensure security. However, it is very much possible to have a set of locks operable with a single key. This especially can prove more efficient and effective when it comes to safety locks used for lockouts.
Each employee or technician is usually provided with their very own set of locks keyed alike, so that the employee needs to use just one key for all the locks at his disposal.
Then, there is, of course, a master key, ideally available with a supervisor or higher authority that can be used with again a set of locks, used for a specific company, facility or department.
Depending on specific needs, locks can be:
Keyed Alike – Single key for multiple locks
Keyed Different – Different key for each lock
