Zen Bamboo’s plywood is a real cross-laminated architectural grade structure. Our bamboo plywood is assembled using only full-length bamboo strips to fill its core layer. This means that it won’t split and will allow for very beautiful edges that can be left exposed and a much better dimensional stability. Most of our competitors use short bamboo strips for their core to save the cost, they often split and show gaps and muddy fillers in their core layer.

Zen Bamboo offers a very broad assortment of bamboo plywood, veneer , paneling and lumbers in various sizes, thickness, colors and textures. Besides the bamboo material, Zen Bamboo is able to develop unique customized bamboo solutions for industrial clients that meet exceptionally high demands.
3. What about the adhesives used for the lamination of Zen Bamboo plywood?
Zen Bamboo use the high quality European adhesives for all its products. It has the lowest formaldehyde emissions in the industry and exceeds the strict European E1 standard for indoor air quality.
4. Can bamboo sheets be cut with a CNC router?
A large percentage of the material we sell goes for CNC routing. The CNC program needs to be adjusted to slow the feed rate by 50%, as the density of the bamboo can break router bits. The router bits themselves MUST be sharp for clean results, and it has been suggested to use ‘compression’ bits.If using table, panel or track saws – ensure the saw blade is sharp. Diamond tipped saw blades are the most suited to the bamboo material.
5. If bamboo is so plentiful, then why does bamboo plywood cost as much as high quality oak ?
In the western world, bamboo has a low cost reputation because of its use in familiar items such as handicrafts, bamboo baskets, chopsticks, mats and fences. However, bamboo plywood is a laminate requiring many labor-intensive steps and specialized equipment to produce it. It is "manufactured" or "engineered" to an extent that wood is not.
